Customers Speechless with New Anti-Spam Technology on InstaGate

Important Updates for InstaGate and ThreatWall

Last week eSoft released software updates for the InstaGate xSP, PRO, EX2 and the ThreatWall. The SpamFilter SoftPak for InstaGate now includes advanced anti-spam features including Bayesian filtering, heuristic analysis and sender policy framework (SPF). The new features can learn to automatically differentiate spam from good email. In addition, the Email ThreatMonitor for both InstaGate and ThreatWall has improved graphical reporting and statistics plus detailed search capabilities. The new release includes updates to the base product and SoftPaks as detailed in the release notes. Visit the eSoft Support Center for release notes and up-to-date documentation.

Did you know that SiteFilter on ThreatWall now supports Active Directory™ authentication?

ThreatWall (with Sitefilter SoftPak) now has Active Directory ™ (2003 or better) integration to authenticate users transparently for web filtering policy. Simply use your existing AD server instead of adding users to the ThreatWall. Users will no longer need to login.

Note: You’ll need some familiarity with Active Directory for proper configuration, if not contact eSoft support or pre-sales support for assistance.

Bayesian Filtering

Bayesian Filtering is an important spam-fighting technology found in the most advanced spamfilters. It is a critical feature because it allows our SpamFilter to learn and continuously improve as improve their techniques.

Spammers have gotten very adept at altering messages every so slightly so they get around existing spam scoring tests. The addition of the Bayesian filter feature gives the SpamFilter a tool to learn and remember all of these variations and reject them the next time.
