Did you know that SiteFilter on ThreatWall now supports Active Directory authentication?

ThreatWall (with Sitefilter SoftPak) now has Active Directory ™ (2003 or better) integration to authenticate users transparently for web filtering policy. Simply use your existing AD server instead of adding users to the ThreatWall. Users will no longer need to login.

Note: You’ll need some familiarity with Active Directory for proper configuration, if not contact eSoft support or pre-sales support for assistance.

Tech Brief IE 7
by Jim Bussard

Have you upgraded your web browser to Internet Explorer 7?  If yes, you may have encountered a disconcerting certificate warning when attempting to access an eSoft unit’s Graphical User Interface.

This error occurs because eSoft uses self-signed certificates for secure access.
Here is an important tip for getting around the issue:   When logging into an InstaGate or ThreatWall User Interface, administrators may get several errors from Internet Explorer 7 mentioning security concerns with the certificate.

Administrators should click on the “Certificate Error” button to open the information window.  Click “View Certificates.”  Then click “Install Certificate.”  The Administrator will see one more warning dialog box.  Click “Yes.”  This will take the administrator   to the unit’s User Interface as   normal.
