WEBMAIL UPDATE RELEASE NOTES

Version Number: 5.0.20110411

The highlight of this release is the improved version of Webmail. Other new features include a Whitelist for Email Content Filter, export tables in Threatmonitor, modifications to Secure SMTP, as well as various bug fixes.

WEBMAIL FEATURES

The webmail software has switched from EMUMail to Roundcube. Roundcube is faster and provides many new features such as:

  • Calendar
  • Integrated autoresponder and forwarder controls.
  • Drag and Drop support
  • Custom Signatures
  • Full IMAP integration

Contact information from EMUMail will be automatically imported when a user first logs in.

 

CONTENT FILTER WHITELIST

Email Content Filtering now allows for whitelisting of email addresses and domains. This does not include IP addresses.

 

THREATMONITOR IMPROVEMENT - EXPORT TABLE REPORTS

Any table based report can have its data exported using the new export tool to create an Excel spreadsheet. Once exported to excel, users can print or manipulate the report data to their liking.

 

MAIL ENCRYPTION

 Mail Encryption now allows you to force connections to specific IP Addresses. We have also cleaned up the wording in this section to make it less cryptic and more user friendly

 

SUPPORT ISSUES ADDRESSED Base System Software - All Models

  • Corrected issue where unsubscribed software would not always be removed properly.
  • Under certain conditions, when clicking a menu entry, the form would appear in a new window or tab.  This has been fixed.

 

Reports - All Models

  • Searches for Any field, including the Quick Search feature, with a leading wildcard (such as *esoft.com) did not work.  This has been fixed for entries added after this update. 
  • Email logging no longer inserts the value “!none” into the recipient field.  This fix only applies to entries added after this update.
  • Failed SMTP authentication attempts are now logged
  • Fixed bug where category reports would display Whitelist and Other categories as empty values so their entries would just show numbers.
  • If you moved or changed visibility of columns from paged tables, on the next data refresh, all columns would be reset to the report’s saved values.  Now  the columns not change on a refresh, and their positions and visibilities are now saved.
  • The Operations column used for email and web proxy Log reports is no longer lost if you edit the report.
  • Pre-packaged reports can now be reset to their defaults from the Edit form.
  • The Top Allowed Sites/Top Blocked Sites reports have been changed from pie charts to summary tables.F
  • Corrected problem when creating queries; leading booleans were not being handled properly.
  • The Consolidate option is no longer always enabled.
  • When printing or emailing reports, the time field is now displayed as a normal timestamp instead of in seconds.
  • Fixed usability issues found in Internet Explorer 9.

 

User Admin - All Models

  • Fixed User Admin help links that did not work.

 

SpamFilter, Bayes Training Tool - All Models

  • A Non-Spam button has been added to training tool footer on messages.
  • Fixed an issue with certain messages causing the Bayes training tool to report PHP warnings in the browser.

 

SpamFilter, Whitelist - All Models

  • The local host address is no longer allowed to be added to the whitelist.

 

Quarantine - All Models

  • For both Content Filter and SpamFilter quarantines, certain maliciously crafted messages could not be managed in the quarantine.  This has been fixed for newly added entries after this update.  

 

Web Security - All Models

  • Improved Active Directory Integration, fixing a few random issues with integration in certain environments.
  • Corrected issue where the Uncategorized Category was not blocked when selected in Web Security Policies.

 

Base System Software - Threatwall - All Models

  • Corrected problem where HTML messages from the SoftPak Director routines were not getting handled properly.

 

Quarantine - Threatwall - All Models

  • Corrected bug where if an auto-key quarantine user would view a message in more detail, they would see menu options not applicable to them.

SiteFilter - Threatwall - All Models

  • Fixed problem with Sitefilter Database download failures.
