Routing for Multiple LAN Segments

Routing

If you have multiple LAN subnets on the network behind your InstaGate or ThreatWall you will need to add routes to route the traffic to these subnets. To add these routes on InstaGate click Static Routes under the Network menu. For ThreatWall, go to Network and then Routes.

To add a new route click on Add. Enter the Network Address of the other network segment and the Subnet Mask. The Gateway IP Address is the IP address of the router that will connect the two networks. This IP will be on the same network as your InstaGate or ThreatWall. Click Apply to save the route.

Workstations pointing to the InstaGate as their gateway will be redirected to the other network when they request IP addresses on that network. Routes will need to be added to any workstations that do not use the InstaGate and their gateway. For ThreatWall, this route will allow the ThreatWall access to the other LAN segments.
