Accessing the Admin Folder
Overview
The Admin folder on InstaGate allows you to access the System and SoftPak manuals and the System Logs by using Windows File Sharing. This is useful for some programs that read logs using file sharing including Smart Reports.
Configuration
First, make sure the File Server is enabled. Go to the Server menu and click on File Server.
In order to log into the Admin Folder you must do the following:
- Add a user on the InstaGate
- Make sure that user has Admin Rights by clicking on System > Administrator Settings. Then enable Local Administrators and make sure your username is highlighted.
- If you are using Windows, is it helpful if you are logging into Windows with the same username you have created on the InstaGate. By default Windows tries to use your Windows login to authenticate to network resources. Please see the Microsoft Knowledgebase for additional information.
- Browse to the InstaGate by entering, *IPADDRESS*Admin or InstagateAdmin, into Internet Explorer or Network Neighborhood. The *IPADDRESS* should be the LAN IP of your InstaGate (Example: 192.168.1.1Admin).
- When accessing the folder, use the password you have setup on the InstaGate for that user.
